How Safal Pulse reads flows

FII and DII numbers are most useful when they are not read in isolation. The report combines flows with Nifty, Bank Nifty, breadth, VIX, global cues and options data.

  • FII cash market activity.
  • DII cash market activity.
  • Market sentiment read-through.
  • Context for positive, negative or mixed institutional cues.

Clear color logic

Positive and negative values are visually separated in the report so the read is faster.

Context first

Flow data is treated as one input, not the single truth of the market day.

Morning-ready

The data is included in the 8 AM report when available from live or latest-session sources.

Why flows need confirmation

Large FII or DII numbers can influence sentiment, but they rarely explain the full market by themselves. A positive DII figure may support the market, while a large FII outflow may still pressure high-weight sectors or currency-sensitive areas.

That is why the report reads flows beside index movement, sector participation, volatility and breadth. If institutional buying aligns with improving breadth, the signal is cleaner. If flows are positive but the index is supported by only a few names, the read remains cautious.

Useful comparison

Flows are strongest when compared with price action, not when treated as a standalone headline.
